Fitness instructors

The Community Recreation Center is hiring group fitness instructors who are interested in leading energizing, fun, safe and positive classes for Zumba, barre, yoga, pilates, Mossa Fitness, senior fitness and others. Special-interest class instructors

The Casa Grande Community Services Department is seeking people to teach special-interest classes including fitness, cheer, dance, arts and others. Share ideas for classes by contacting Taylor Hubbard at 520-421-8677, ext. 4550 or taylor_hubbard@casagrandeaz.gov.

Swim lessons

Session 3 begins Tuesday and Session 4 begins July 23. Each session is two weeks and includes six classes. All swim lessons are 30 minutes in duration and cost $15 per participant. Classes are designed based on age and skill level and are limited to six participants per certified instructor to ensure proper training is provided. Register at www.casagrandeaz.gov/aquatics. Scholarships are available, but you must register in person at 1905 N. Peart Road.

Beginners Cheer Camp

Youths ages 5 to 10 will be taught a variety of dance moves in this weeklong cheer camp. Classes will begin with stretching and warmups leading into a combination of cheer basics and dance choreography. Dress code: comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Class begins Monday, cost is $45 for CRC members and $50 for non-members. Register at www.casagrandeaz.gov/rec.

Tumbling for Cheerleaders Camp

Youths ages 8 to 15 will learn basic tumbling skills needed for cheerleading: handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, backbends and cheer jumps. Strength and flexibility exercises will also be emphasized. Class begins Monday, cost is $45 for CRC members and $50 for non-members. Register at www.casagrandeaz.gov/rec.

Adult softball umpires needed

The Parks and Recreation Division is seeking adult softball umpires. Earn $17.50 to $18.50 per game. Games are typically Monday and Thursday nights. For more information, call 520-421-8677, ext 4560.

Family Swim Nights

The community can enjoy free Family Swim Nights for the 2019 summer season. Banner Health has sponsored free admission for Family Swim Nights on Fridays from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. now through Aug. 2 at Palm Island Family Aquatic Park, 1115 N. Brown Ave.

Men’s Basketball League

The Men’s Basketball League will play on Wednesday evenings beginning July 17. The league will consist of seven weeks with a single-elimination playoff following the regular season. Must be 18 or older to participate. Cost is $300 per team. Games are played at the Community Recreation Center, 1905 N. Peart Road.

Family Trivia Night

Questions on Family Trivia Night will focus on Disney’s animated and Pixar films. Event will be held on Friday, July 12, at the Community Recreation Center, 1905 N. Peart Road. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the game starts at 7 p.m. CRC members are free, non-members are $5 per person. The event includes pizza, drinks and raffle prizes. Attendees may wear a costume or Disney theme attire to be entered to win fun prizes and should bring a smartphone or tablet to play. Preregister by this Friday at www.casagrandeaz.gov/rec.

Evening dance

A Dorothy Powell Senior Center evening dance is scheduled for Tuesday featuring CC Collier. The dance begins at 7 p.m. with $5 admission per person. For more information, call 520-421-8760.

Thunderous Thursdays

Thunderous Thursdays is a social club for developmentally/physically disabled teens and adults. July’s activity will be Paint Party on July 11 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The activity will be hosted at the Dorothy Powell Senior Center, 405 E. Sixth St. For more information, call 520-421-8677, ext. 4523.

Senior Karaoke Sing-Along

The Dorothy Powell Senior Center will host Karaoke Sing-Along for its members on Wednesday, July 10, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. For more information, call 520-421-8760.
