Law enforcement agencies set up a perimeter as a helicopter searched for suspects Thursday April 9, 2020 in the area between Trekell and Peart roads and Kortsen Road and Cottonwood Lane.

CASA GRANDE — Thursday evening the Casa Grande Police Department, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office and the Arizona Department of Public Safety assisted the Gila River Police Department in a search for a homicide suspect running from law enforcement into Casa Grande.

According to Thomas Anderson, spokesman for the Casa Grande Police Department, Gila River Police pursued a vehicle into Casa Grande.

The vehicle stopped and people jumped out at Cottonwood Lane and Peart Road about 8:45 p.m.

With many law enforcement officers searching the area with the aid of a DPS helicopter, two suspects were located but a third possible suspect was not found.

According to police scanner traffic during the search, at least one of the suspects was wanted in connection with a homicide in the Gila River Indian Community. It is unknown when this homicide took place and Gila River Police do not respond to calls from the media.

On Wednesday, the Gila River Police Department posted information on a person wanted for assault. It is not known if that person is connected to the Casa Grande search.

Gila River PD said an arrest warrant for assault has been issued for Royal Guy Sabori, 32, and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the department at 520-562-4511.
