CASA GRANDE — Three students at Villago Middle School have been named by the Casa Grande Elementary School District as the Casa Grande Rotary Club Students of the Month for November. They are:

Izayah Gant, eighth grade, son of Victoria and Eltorna Gant. A Titan since sixth grade, Izayah is an extraordinary student and athlete. He is an honor roll student who is in the gifted program. Citizenship and respect for teachers and classmates are among Izayah’s current strengths. Izayah also plays football and basketball for the school. Currently, Izayah has been the starting quarterback for flag football and threw for 10 touchdowns in the first three games. Izayah is also a leader on campus and on the football field. He has total command of the huddle. He remains calm and focused in all situations.

After eighth grade promotion, Izayah will attend Casa Grande Union High School, where he plans to continue playing football and basketball. His goal is to earn a football scholarship to Louisiana State University, where he plans to study business. Izayah intends to create and sell his own clothing line in the future.

Reese Maestas, an eighth grader and daughter of Teasha and Anthony Maestas. She has been a Titan since sixth grade and is an extraordinary student. Reese was called a joy as a student at the school. She is very kind to all staff and students. She always has a smile on her face, and she brings her positive energy to the school every day. She is an honor roll student who is also involved in cross country, volleyball and track. Reese is also very involved in her church and serves as a youth leader. She also is a member of the United Dance Company in Coolidge.

When Reese completes eighth grade year in May, she will attend Casa Grande Union. She plans to attend Arizona State University to study physiology after graduating from high school.

Sawyer Barth, an eighth grader and son of Christina and the late Benjamin Barth. He has been a Titan since sixth grade and is an extraordinary student. He is the Villago student body president. He is a strong leader, and he leads with his positive actions. Sawyer is in the gifted program and maintains a 4.0-grade point average. Teachers at Villago enjoy having Sawyer in their classes because he is always smiling and treats everyone he contacts with the utmost respect. Outside of school, Sawyer serves as a youth leader at his church.

Next year Sawyer will attend Casa Grande Union. After high school graduation, he hopes to attend The Ohio State University and study aerospace engineering.

The students will be recognized by the Casa Grande Elementary School District Governing Board on Dec. 14.
