American Legion Post 8 will be meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 713 N. Park Ave. Planning to be in attendance are Area A Vice Commander Gary Smith, District 4 Commander Jose Maldanado and District 4 Service Officer Dennis Gardner. All members may attend. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
Al-Anon offers help
Al-Anon meetings are held in Casa Grande and Maricopa. “Not everyone trapped by alcohol is an alcoholic. Families and friends are suffering too. Do you worry about how much someone drinks? Al-Anon members are people, just like you, who are worried about someone with a drinking problem. Al-Anon and Alateen can help,” a message from meeting organizers said. Kiwanis Club of Casa Grande
The Kiwanis Club of Casa Grande meets every Thursday morning at 7 at the Casa Grande Union High School District Office (formerly Desert Winds High School). Elks to host blood drive
Casa Grande Valley Elks Lodge will host a Red Cross blood drive on Jan. 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a drawing for gift baskets that will be given out at the end of the day. The Red Cross will also enter donors into a drawing for Super Bowl LVII tickets that include access to day-of in-stadium pregame activities and other perks.
