CASA GRANDE — A 50-year-old man in a motorized wheelchair was transported to Casa Grande Regional Medical Center after he was struck by a vehicle in Casa Grande Monday morning.
The man in a wheelchair was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee about 10:11 a.m. near North Pueblo Drive and Florence Boulevard. Police said he was crossing Florence in the middle of the block and was not using a crosswalk. The man in the wheelchair was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital but was not believed to have significant injuries. The wheelchair was damaged and removed from the scene by a tow truck.
Westbound lanes of Florence Boulevard were closed at the time of the collision as emergency personnel tended to the injured man.
Casa Grande Police are investigating the incident and no citations have been issued. Further details will be published when they become available.
