CASA GRANDE — Florence Street and Main Avenue will be getting a more than $1.9 million face-lift starting in August.
The city will be milling and replacing the asphalt overlay on both streets, which are south of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, adding ramps to sidewalks, fixing curbs and gutters and making some repairs to streetlights.
The work will start on a section of Third Avenue, just west of Florence Street. Florence Street will be repaved from Main Avenue to about 230 feet north of Third Avenue. Main Avenue will be repaved from Sacaton Street to Florence Street.
Plans have been made to accommodate trash pickup and deliveries to businesses in the area. Detour signs will be posted for motorists. City staff is expecting the repaving project to be completed by December.
