Community blood drive

The city of Casa Grande Employee Wellness Committee is hosting a community blood drive Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the activity room of the Main Library. Advance appointments help organizers maintain social distancing. To make an appointment, call 877-258-4825 or visit BloodHero.com. All donors must bring and wear a mask or cloth-based face covering.

Friends of the Library

The Friends are looking for new members! The mission of the Friends of the Casa Grande Library is to develop resources to support library services and programs, promote adult literacy and encourage enjoyment of reading, lifelong learning and community involvement. Those who see the evolving libraries as a valuable resource in the community and would like to support them may visit the Main or Vista Grande library for more information or contact Friends of the Library at focglibrary@gmail.com. Friends of the Casa Grande Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

People may access all the library’s online programs in one place. The programs available include Craftastic for adult craft ideas and Adult Beginning Spanish plus the following programs for kids: Storytime, Science Experiments, Kinder Prep, Lego Building Challenge, Flannel Fridays and Puppet Shows. Books for sale

A small selection of books, audio books, DVDs and CDs is available for sale at both the Main and Vista Grande libraries. Hardbacks are $2 each, paperbacks are 50 cents each or three for $1, DVDs and CDs are $1 each. Proceeds go to the Friends of the Library.
