The family of the two girls struck by a car near their bus stop has raised more than $2,000 of their $5,000 goal on their GoFundMe site.

CASA GRANDE – A GoFundMe fundraiser set up for two girls who were struck by a car near their school bus stop has raised just over $2,000 of its $5,000 goal.

According to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, the two girls, ages 6 and 7, were walking to their bus stop Tuesday on Arizola Road near Jimmie Kerr Boulevard when a friend yelled that the bus was coming. The girls dashed out into the street and were hit by a car. The driver of the car stopped and remained at the scene to talk to police. There was no evidence that the driver was impaired, distracted or speeding at the time of the accident, according to PCSO.

The two girls were flown by helicopter to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

According to the GoFundMe site, the girls are still in the hospital. One of the girls is using a wheelchair and walker and going through physical therapy. The other came out of a coma on Friday and is able to respond to commands.
