CASA GRANDE — A driver was hospitalized Monday after rolling his vehicle off of Val Vista Road just outside of Casa Grande.
The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. about 1½ miles east of Interstate 10, west of Hazeldine Road.
Pinal County Sheriff’s Office deputies on the scene said it was a single-vehicle crash with only the driver involved. The vehicle appeared to have been traveling east.
A medical helicopter arrived on the scene but was unable to land. The driver was driven to the Casa Grande Municipal Airport, then flown to Chandler Regional Medical Center.
On Tuesday, PCSO identified the driver as 34-year-old Cody Brown and said impaired driving due to alcohol is believed to be a factor. He remains in the hospital in critical condition.
Both directions of Val Vista Road were closed for some time as deputies investigated the incident.
