Comedy show

CASA GRANDE — The Mellow B comedy show, a new monthly comedy and music event planned at the Paramount Theater, will return on Saturday, June 26, with a new lineup of comedians.

Among the entertainers set to perform are Charie Mac, Seth “Easy Living” Smith, Ray Love, Rob Maebe and Meat Candy.

The show is hosted by Phoenix-area comedian Bobby Johnson, also known as DJ Mellow B.

The Paramount Theater debuted the comedy show to Casa Grande audiences in May and plans to offer the events once a month.

Rickey Robinson, manager of the Paramount Theater, said the comedy show held in May was well received.

“The show was great and I got great reviews,” he said.

More than 75 attended the May show.

“The word is still slowly getting out about the comedy night life at the theater,” Robinson said. “I’m trying to get the word out that we have a comedy show and singing entertainment all on one stage — it’s a night of comedy and singing.”

The theater focuses on bringing a variety of shows to Casa Grande audiences to appeal to diverse audiences.

Johnson hopes to bring the comedy show to Casa Grande once a month, rotating a diverse lineup of comedians and entertainers.

Audiences should come to the show ready to laugh and ready for surprises, he said.

Tickets are $25 for general admission, $35 for VIP seating or $45 for a private balcony table.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8.
