CASA GRANDE — A collision Friday afternoon knocked out the traffic signals at a busy Casa Grande intersection, but no one was seriously injured.
According to Casa Grande Police, at about 2:30 p.m. a westbound car on Florence Boulevard turning left caused an eastbound SUV to swerve and strike utility boxes on Cameron Avenue. The SUV made some contact with the turning car and then sheared the utility boxes, which damaged two parked cars and the front of Sommers Glass & Mirror shop.
The traffic lights at the intersection were knocked out. The SUV driver had minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
A Casa Grande Police officer said the lights were expected to be out for a couple of hours and stop signs were posted.
City workers were called to make the repairs.
