CASA GRANDE — The Casa Grande Union High School District will begin the process for making a superintendent appointment with a public forum Tuesday.

The public will have a chance to speak with current Interim Superintendent Anna Battle, who may shake the interim title and receive a regular appointment to the position.

Battle took over the position after Steve Bebee resigned earlier this spring and has had to deal with navigating the complex and shifting COVID-19 dynamic, including helping to determine mask and safety policies. During the meeting on Tuesday, Battle will introduce herself to attendees and answer questions about her role and future goals.

“This first step in the process will provide the board with valuable information related to community stakeholder perspectives and the potential for Dr. Battle continuing in the position,” reads a statement by the Governing Board. The board is planning to make a decision on the appointment soon.

Members of the community can attend the forum and submit written questions. While not all questions may be presented due to time constraints, the district said board members will review any remaining questions at their next meeting on Nov. 2.

The forum will be held at the Vista Grande High School Agora room, located at 1556 N. Arizola Road, starting at 5:30 p.m.
