CASA GRANDE — Casa Grande Union High School received an anonymous threat late Thursday night, officials said.
Union Principal Brian Mabb sent a notification to students and parents at 4:33 a.m. Friday stating, “Late last night we received an anonymous tip regarding a potential threat that was communicated via social media. While the threat was not specific to Casa Grande Union High School, we take all threats seriously and work hard to ensure the safety of our students, staff and families.”
The notification continued, “We are working closely with the Casa Grande Police Department with regards to this incident and as a precaution may (have) police present on campus along with some additional district staff to help monitor our school today."
Thomas Anderson, CGPD spokesman, said, "We are communicating and working with the high school to ensure a safe environment for all. We take all threats seriously, to include this one."
