Collision closes Peart Road

A man, 84, died of injuries after a two-vehicle collision about noon Monday Jan. 10, 2022 at Peart Road and O’Neil Drive.

CASA GRANDE — A man who was seriously injured in a collision on Peart Road Monday has died.

Marvin Jones, 84, of Casa Grande was transported to Banner Casa Grande Medical Center after the accident and passed away a short time later, Casa Grande Police Department spokesman Thomas Anderson confirmed.

The accident occurred Monday afternoon near the intersection of O’Neil Drive and Peart Road. An initial investigation appears to show that Jones failed to yield at a stop sign on O’Neil Drive while turning south onto Peart, Anderson said. Jones’ vehicle crossed directly in front of a Dodge SUV that was headed north on Peart Road and the two vehicles collided.

The female driver of the SUV was not injured in the accident. Peart Road was closed from Cottonwood Lane to Prickly Pear Way for a short time while the accident was investigated.
