CASA GRANDE — Richard Garcia, 45, was arrested on suspicion of endangerment, disorderly conduct with a weapon, discharging a firearm in city limits, attempted second-degree intentional murder and aggravated assault with deadly weapon in connection with a shooting that injured a woman.

A 41-year-old woman was shot in the hand and face early Monday morning in the 1100 block of East Bonita Place in Casa Grande and airlifted to a Chandler hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Thomas Anderson, spokesman for the Casa Grande Police Department, the woman was believed to have been shot in the hand about 4:22 a.m. and the round also hit her in the side of the face. He said police do not believe the injuries to be life-threatening.

She was initially transported to Banner Casa Grande Medical Center and then airlifted to a Chandler hospital due to the facial injuries, he said.

He said both the man and the woman willingly came out of the house when police arrived at the scene.
