CASA GRANDE — The city of Casa Grande is closing its pool, the new splash pad, recreation center and internal library services at 8 p.m. Monday.
The closures come after Gov. Doug Ducey released an executive order on Monday closing bars, gyms, movie theaters and water parks, moving the start date for state schools to Aug. 17, putting restrictions on pools that are accessible to the public and banning gatherings of more than 50 people for one month in an effort to get the rising number of COVID-19 cases under control.
In a press release, city officials stated that the city will continue to offer curbside and online library services. The city’s Fourth of July fireworks will still go on, but residents will not be allowed to park and watch the show from the parking lot of Ed Hooper Rodeo Park. Instead residents are encouraged to watch the show from their backyards.
