CASA GRANDE — The Casa Grande City Clerk’s Office is holding an information meeting for anyone wanting to run for City Council or mayor in 2020.

The meeting on the city’s election process will be held at 6 p.m. on Oct. 24 in the council chambers at City Hall, 510 E. Florence Blvd.

Three council seats and the seat of Mayor Craig McFarland are open in the 2020 election cycle. The council members whose terms are up are Mary Kortsen, Lisa Navarro Fitzgibbons and Donna McBride. The election will also include voter approval of the Casa Grande 2030 General Plan.

Nomination packets will be available at the meeting and on the city’s website, www.casagrandeaz.gov. Candidates seeking election will need to collect at least 313 and no more than 625 signatures from qualified voters in order to be eligible for the ballot. Candidates will also have to file a statement of interest form with the city clerk before they can start collecting signatures. The statement of interest is new this year and is required from all candidates.
