CASA GRANDE — A 40-year-old man was arrested by deputies after he allegedly cut his girlfriend’s left forearm during a domestic altercation.
According to court records, Brandon Lee White is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct and preventing the use of a telephone in an emergency.
On May 8, Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a house in the 19100 block of West Lisa Avenue, near Casa Grande, for a domestic disturbance in progress at 11:18 p.m.
“I arrived on scene and found the defendant standing in front of the residence,” a deputy wrote in the report. “Victim stated they were arguing about relationship issues and she stated to the defendant she needed her keys so she can leave in the morning. Victim stated they were breaking up and the defendant began getting p----d off.”
She told police White threw a water bottle and some crackers at her so she attempted to call 911 but that White took her cellphone out of her hands.
“The victim stated she attempted to grab the phone and she felt an object cut her left forearm,” the officer wrote.
The woman was finally able to get the phone and dial 911.
“The victim stated she observed the defendant holding a kitchen knife and dropping it in the living room area. I observed the defendant to have what appeared to be blood on his pants,” the officer wrote in the report.
He was taken to the Pinal County Adult Detention Center and booked.
White was released from jail on a $3,000 secured bond and was to be arraigned in Superior Court on Friday.
