CASA GRANDE — The Public Works Department is gearing up for its annual paving projects.
This fiscal year’s projects include resurfacing or resealing streets in the Copper Vista, The Greens, Coyote Ranch, The Links, Desert Sky Ranch subdivisions as well as streets on the west side and the area of Laurel, Brenda and Manor drives. The department will also make repairs to Ninth Street and Adams and Jefferson avenues.
The department also plans to rebuild streets in Western Manor and Caspita Y Grande subdivisions.
There are also three major capital improvement projects on the books: resurfacing on Casa Grande-Maricopa Highway, rebuilding parts of Florence Street and West Main Avenue and chip sealing part of South Hacienda Road between East Earley Road and East Selma Highway.
That stretch of Hacienda Road is particularly well traveled, said Public Works Director Kevin Louis. The road is dirt and the city is hoping that by partially paving it using a double chip seal technique, which uses a layer of asphalt covered with a layer of fine gravel, it will keep down the dust from traffic.
