CASA GRANDE — A Casa Grande man has been arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse, sexual exploitation of a minor, voyeurism, indecent exposure and threatening or intimidating in connection with incidents that occurred in his home around November 2016.

Guy Layton, 37, was arrested on July 14 at his residence in the 3000 block of East Lakeland Drive.

He is accused of making a sexually exploitative recording of a then 12-year-old girl in November of 2016 and exposing himself to the victim, according to court records.

The victim’s mother discussed the incidents with a mental health counselor and reported it to police in January, police reports indicate.

She told authorities that in 2017, she discovered a video recording on Layton’s phone in which her then 12-year-old daughter was wearing only a towel when Layton “picks (her) up onto his shoulders and starts spinning her around,” exposing her to the camera, police reports say.

When confronted about the recording, Layton allegedly told the child’s mother he “had been possessed during the incident,” according to reports.

In another incident that allegedly occurred in 2018, Layton reportedly had the child “walk around in her bra and underwear” before allowing her to watch a “Fast and Furious” movie, police reports say.

The victim was interviewed about the incident in July. Text messages between the victim’s mother and Layton, in which the video recording is discussed, were turned over to police.
