Collision south of CG 3/4/21

CASA GRANDE — A woman was seriously injured in a collision at a dangerous intersection south of Casa Grande Thursday afternoon that forced the van she was driving into a ditch.

The collision occurred at about 3:50 p.m. at Chuichu and Peters roads, the site of a previous crash Monday in which four people were injured.

According to Pinal County Sheriff’s Office deputies on the scene, the northbound van was struck by a vehicle that failed to yield while traveling west. The woman in the van was transported to Banner Casa Grande Medical Center. Her passenger and the driver of the other car were not injured.

PCSO is investigating the incident.

Four people, including two children, suffered serious injuries when two vehicles collided at the same intersection Monday afternoon. A woman in her 50s and two girls 9 and 15 years old were taken to Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa. A male driver was transported to Banner Casa Grande Medical Center.

A PCSO deputy Thursday said the intersection is the site of numerous collisions.
