FLORENCE — A 17-year-old Casa Grande juvenile who was charged as an adult pleaded guilty Monday morning to a March 15 drive-by shooting in Casa Grande.
As part of a plea deal, Arthur Christopher Montijo will be sentenced to three years in prison for the drive-by shooting. For misconduct involving weapons, Montijo will receive probation that will start once he is released.
The drive-by shooting was at a park where three people were put in danger.
Montijo, who was being housed in the juvenile detention center, was to be transferred to the Pinal County Adult Detention Center while he waits to be sentenced.
The three counts of aggravated assault for the March 15 drive-by shooting in Casa Grande were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
He was charged with drive-by shooting, unlawful discharge of a firearm and disorderly conduct involving disturbing the peace and quiet for discharging a .45-caliber handgun during the drive-by shooting.
Montijo will be sentenced at 9 a.m. on July 18.
The Casa Grande Police Department said it cannot release any information on a juvenile, even one charged as an adult.
