Desert Overture, Phoenix's Premiere LGBT and Ally Wind Symphony, presents Wonders of Winter: A non-holiday musical celebration. Do you love Jingle Bells, Sleigh Ride, White Christmas, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and Silent Night? Well, bah humbug! For this upcoming winter performance, concert goers will not hear any of these classic songs. Rather, Desert Overture will be performing music that evokes feelings of winter without any of the snow or freezing cold temperatures.

The concert is being held on Sunday, December 8 at 3:00 pm at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 6501 N. 39th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85019. Advance tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and children 12 and under are free. There is a $5 per ticket surcharge at the door. Tickets are available at www.desertoverture.org.

We love holiday music too, but many people get tired of hearing it everywhere they go starting soon after Halloween said Scott Helms, Desert Overture Artistic Director.  We decided this year to pay tribute to the beauty of winter, with music that's not connected to any specific holiday.
