Dr. Michael M. Crow

President, Arizona State University

Dr. Crow is the 16th president of ASU and recently celebrated his 17th year in office. Raised in a military family and having attended 18 schools before graduating high school, he is a proud first-generation college student. Dr. Crow holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and environmental studies from Iowa State University and a doctoral degree in Public Administration (Science and Technology Policy) from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University. His personal educational experiences have informed his vision of a university that is simultaneously committed to comprehensive excellence, broad access, and meaningful social impact.

Under Dr. Crow’s leadership, ASU has achieved record-breaking levels of traditional, online and international student enrollment, freshman quality and retention, and nearly five-fold growth in research expenditures. It is advancing a rapid and groundbreaking transformation, earning praise as one of the most prestigious public research universities in the world and the most innovative school in the nation for the last four years.
