On hand for a ribbon cutting Wednesday are Kelly Gremmel, from left, Apache Junction City Council member; Christa Rizzi, AJ City Council; Nancy Fassbender, AJ Chamber of Commerce; Kelly Townsend, state senator, District 16; AJ Mayor Chip Wilson; Fred Schneider, president of Arizona Water Company; Bill Staples, general manager, Arizona Water Company; Deron Allen, vice president, Arizona Water Company.

APACHE JUNCTION — Arizona Water Company officials and local dignitaries cut the ribbon on a brand new operations center in Apache Junction Wednesday that will serve local residents and customers in the fast-growing area.

State, county and municipal officials joined in the ceremony, along with the Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce and executives from Arizona Water.

“Our investment in this new office building signifies Arizona Water’s continued commitment to this community, and we know you all share that commitment,” said Fred Schneider, president of Arizona Water. “While we are not moving our offices very far, we are looking a long way into the future with this investment.”

The new office is actually right next door to the old office that has been serving Apache Junction and surrounding areas for decades. It includes a new customer service area at the front, meeting rooms and new work areas for staff. About 47 Arizona Water employees currently work at the operations center, but as Apache Junction continues to grow, so will the number of Arizona Water employees needed to take care of the new residents and businesses. The new building is nearly 10,000 square feet.

The address of the new office is 2380 W. Southern Ave.
