CASA GRANDE — The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is hunting for three men in connection with a fatal shooting early Thursday morning near Casa Grande Mountain that left a man dead and a woman wounded, according to unofficial sources.
The homicide occurred around 12:45 a.m. near Barstow Avenue and Hanna Road south of Interstate 8 on the west side of Casa Grande Mountain Park. There is a trailhead in the area.
A 22-year-old male was pronounced dead at a hospital. An adult female was at a hospital in stable condition, PCSO said Thursday. Both suffered gunshot wounds and the names of the victims have not been released by authorities.
PinalCentral obtained a copy of an all points bulletin issued by PCSO seeking the arrest of three suspects in connection with the homicide. Wanted are a 19-year-old male, a 20-year-old male and an 18-year-old male.
PCSO did not return numerous calls seeking comment or confirmation. However, a law enforcement official not connected to the case confirmed the contents of the alert.
According to the APB, all three suspects are considered to be armed and dangerous, possibly with semi-automatic weapons and handguns that were used in the Casa Grande homicide.
The three suspects are believed to have fled in a silver 2017 Subaru WRX bearing Arizona license plate CDG5144.
Authorities believe the 19-year-old suspect has ties to human smuggling with family in Mexico. He was arrested July 9 for disorderly conduct with a weapon, according to Pinal County jail booking logs.
The case remains under investigation. More details will be published when they become available.
