FLORENCE — San Tan Valley public elementary schools will have new attendance boundaries when the new school year begins, following action by the Florence Unified School District Governing Board.

The board voted Jan. 11 to adjust school boundaries according to the boundary committee’s “Option 1” presented at previous public meetings. The change is designed to avoid overcrowding at FUSD’s fastest-growing schools, including Anthem and Magma Ranch K-8. Florence K-8’s boundaries are unchanged.

The affected communities are Apollo, Oasis, Morning Sun Farms, San Tan Heights Spillway, Rancho Bella Vista South and Greens I and II. Households that have been assigned a new school should be receiving a letter from FUSD.

FUSD hasn’t changed boundaries in more than 10 years, and is trying to keep boundaries mostly the same to minimize disruptions to families, according to presentations at previous public meetings.
