25+ years of service

Florence Unified School District honors its longest-serving employees on a column outside the central office auditorium.

FLORENCE — Steve Johnson was elected president of the Florence Unified School District Governing Board at its first meeting of 2022, and Sherri Jones was elected vice president.

Also at the Jan. 11 meeting, the board recognized several FUSD employees with at least 25 years of continuous service and commemorated the occasion with bricks displayed on a column outside the front door of the central office auditorium.

The employees, and their total years of service, were: Tony Jimenez, assistant superintendent, 40 years; Lucinda Lopez, teacher at Anthem K-8, 29 years; Harold Dobbs, bus driver/mechanic, and Robyn Villalobos, human resources manager, 28 years; Shawn Cluff, assistant principal at Florence High School, and Sheaba Granillo, district food service manager, 27 years; and Heidi Cluff, teacher at Florence K-8, and Margarita Viola, paraprofessional at San Tan Foothills High School, 26 years.
