FLORENCE — Pinal County has issued an advisory to residents following a report of a man impersonating an animal control officer attempting to gain access to a home.
The advisory issued Wednesday by Pinal County Animal Control officers came after a report by an Arizona City resident.
John Soto posted on Facebook that a man came to his door and told his wife that he was with Animal Control but would not specify which agency.
“He kept insisting he had to come inside and go to the backyard to look at our dogs,” Soto said. “He was in an unmarked pickup truck with a camper shell.”
Animal Control advised that all its officers are in tan uniforms with name tags and drive white trucks with kennels on the back and have “Pinal County Animal Care & Control” clearly visible on both doors and the back of the truck.
Residents can contact animal control at 520-509-3555 and ask to verify if an officer is in their neighborhood.
