ARIZONA CITY — Richard Felix Jr., 20, sits in the county jail on $250,000 secured bond after he allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted an Arizona City woman on Jan. 17.
According to court records, Felix, also from Arizona City, entered the woman's home while she was at work and held her against her will after she arrived home.
“When she tried to leave, the defendant would physically assault her, punching her in multiple places on her body,” a law enforcement officer wrote in a probable cause statement. “The defendant took possession of the victim's cellular phone and would not allow her to place calls nor any emergency calls. The victim advised that she was forced to have sex with the male subject against her will, without consent.”
The report stated the woman was only allowed to leave after she told him that she had an appointment with a counselor and police would show up if she did not make the appointment.
Felix allowed her to go so law enforcement wouldn't arrive, court records state.
In addition to the assault, the woman had a protection order in place against Felix.
Felix was arrested shortly after the woman was freed in the same area as her home.
He was booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center and charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, second-degree burglary, aggravated assault, assault with injury and interfering with judicial proceedings.
He is scheduled to appear in Superior Court Friday for a status conference.
