ARIZONA CITY — Mother Nature graced residents with a perfect Spring Day March 23, and the Arizona City Chamber of Commerce took full advantage with the car and bike show rescheduled from Arizona City Daze in February, which had been rained out. It was a welcome gift indeed, and the people came out in droves.
The show featured over 40 entries including classic cars, modified vehicles, antique trucks and even the classic Arizona City fire department fire truck.
People enjoyed the opportunity to have an up-close look at the cars, to enjoy various food vendors and to participate in the fundraiser raffles. All proceeds benefited the Arizona City Chamber of Commerce’s general operating fund.
The chamber expressed special thanks to Brian Earnest of Farmers Insurance for the use of his parking lot for the show’s venue. Thanks also to Jackie’s Place and other businesses for the use of facilities that day. Mike Rock, “Rocket Man,” donated his time with music and announcing.
The Arizona City Fire District and employee volunteers for arranged the road barriers and extra help during the day. Others who made appreciated contributions, according to the chamber, include Katie and Darrel Sutton, Kathi Lashley, and Nancy Hawkins and staff.
Results were reported in last week’s Arizona City Independent.
