ARIZONA CITY — The local Chamber of Commerce plans to hold the car show portion of Arizona City Daze, which was canceled earlier due to weather.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, the Chamber of Commerce will host a car show and gathering.

The chamber’s largest fundraiser, Arizona City Daze, was canceled because of inclement weather, including heavy rain, muddy parking areas and flooded parts of town.

The rescheduled car show will be held in the parking lot in front of the Tumbleweed Market and Farmers Insurance. Located at the corner of Sunland Gin Road and Santa Cruz Boulevard, the event will also include food vendors, a local disc jockey, raffles for many prizes, a 50/50 drawing and a silent auction.

Trophies will be awarded at 2 p.m. for the following categories:

  • Modified vehicles (cars and trucks), first, second and third place
  • Original vehicles, first, second and third place
  • Bikes, first and second place
  • Best of Show (one trophy)

Designated parking for the cars in the show will be roped off and patrolled. Balloting is open to the public for each of the categories. The entry fee for preregistered cars and bikes is $10, with a $15 entry fee for day-of-show participants.

Entry forms can be picked up at the Arizona City Chamber of Commerce office or at Hawkins Realty in Arizona City. Forms are also available at the Tumbleweed Inn on Frontier Street in Eloy.
