APACHE JUNCTION – A homeless woman is facing charges after she allegedly threw a rock at a truck breaking the vehicle’s sunroof and startling the driver.

According to Pinal County Superior Court records, Stephanie K. Eakins, 45, is facing two counts of criminal damage and one count of disorderly conduct.

According to court records, at around 9:34 a.m. on Oct. 14, Eakins allegedly threw a large rock or piece of asphalt at a truck that was towing a large goose-necked trailer, breaking the truck’s sunroof. In a report filed with the court records, a Pinal County Sheriff’s deputy described the rock as being as large as one of his duty boots.

The driver told the deputy who responded to the incident that he thought someone had fired a gun at the vehicle until a bystander flagged him down and explained what happened.

Eakins, according to the deputy’s report, was found at a nearby homeless camp, where the driver of the vehicle identified her as the person who damaged the truck.

The deputy noted in his report that Eakins has a prior history of similar actions and was previously diagnosed with drug induced psychosis.
