APACHE JUNCTION — Apache Junction kicks off its 100-year anniversary with a celebration event from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, at Prospector Park.

There is no admission fee to the event, which includes various centennial-theme activities, fireworks, live music, contests and tournaments, food and a beer garden.

Activities for children include inflatable play structures, pony rides and a petting zoo.

Various photo props will be available in the park to provide attendees with the chance to take fun and memorable photos, a press release from the Apache Junction Founders Centennial Committee said.
