APACHE JUNCTION — An Apache Junction man is facing seven counts of aggravated assault after he allegedly pushed down and attacked two family members.
According to Pinal County Superior Court records, Nathan L. Madruga, 23, is charged with seven counts of domestic violence aggravated assault.
Apache Junction Police officers were called out at 6:26 p.m. on March 11 in the 500 block of East Kachina Avenue for a report of domestic violence.
Officers found that Madruga had allegedly pushed one family member to the ground and tried to choke her. The woman punched him in the throat in order to get Madruga to let go.
Madruga then allegedly pulled another family member from a wheelchair, threw the person to the ground and tried to choke that person.
Madruga then fled the home before officers arrived. Officers, who had previous experience with Madruga, waited until he returned home about an hour later. When they tried to take Madruga into custody, he allegedly ran and fought officers, kicking one officer in the head multiple times.
After officers put him in the back of a patrol vehicle, Madruga allegedly started a fire with a lighter that he had in his pocket.
